The two Göttingen bands have used the boredom of the pandemic with their lockdowns and creatively filled empty hours and days with aggression.
TOTSCHWARZ have been around for a few years and got back together in a new line-up, whereas SCHMÄRZEN climbed into the catacombs relatively new and fresh to do something similar to TOTSCHWARZ.
They went in and they came out and now their record is coming out. To sum up, we can call this product TOTSCHMÄRZEN.
In the last two years we have learned to see things even more TOTSCHWÄRZER than they already are and this is also reflected in the music of both bands.
SCHMÄRZEN play wild, down-to-earth punk rock, which gains its independence especially through the snotty and unusual vocals, occasionally reminiscent of Supabond, but a lot shriller.
Contemporary themes are dealt with ironically and cynically.
TOTSCHWARZ shine with fast and partly melodic chaos punk. Basically, they offer straightforward punk, as played by Antidote or Chaos UK.
A special feature are the alternating snotty and coarse vocals, which echo the varied sound framework.
Songs against and about the dead black daily life. Have I already mentioned PUNK?
No song is like the other, that's what stays on the plate for now, bon appétit!
